Summary description
The IUCN Global Standard for Nature-based Solutions self-assessment is an online tool that consists of eight criteria and associated indicators, which address the pillars of sustainable development (biodiversity, economy and society) and resilient project management. The online tool itself is made up of the Standard and the associated guidance which will instruct users how to perform a self-assessment to:
Design new Nature-based Solutions;
Upscale pilots by identifying gaps and;
Verify past projects and future proposals.
The NbS online self-assessment tool is managed by IUCN and it replaces the excel tool that has been used until now. At no point, IUCN is engaged in the assessment process, which remains a self-ranking process.
