The 2024 Dam Removal Europe report reveals that 2024 was another record-breaking year for dam removals, with 542 barriers removed across 23 European countries. Finland, France and Spain led the way. During this year, the first-ever removals in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, and Turkey took place.
